Breakfast at The Last Brasserie

Admittedly I've been out for breakfast a lot recently.

This time was at the Last Brasserie located on Unthank Road, just a few minutes walk away from home. Myself and Daniela met up with an old friend who was back in Norwich for the weekend.

The Last Brass is one of my favourite places to eat in Norwich and I only discovered it this year. The family run restaurant is the sister venture of the award-winning The Last Wine Bar in the city centre.

It was an absolutely beautiful and scorching day, so we bagged a table outside in the sun and sipped our lattes whilst watching the world go by. Actually it was pretty quiet, Unthank Road is a student area and I'm not sure many students are up and about at 9am on a Sunday morning.

I couldn't resist going for pancakes again.

These were small, plump, scotch pancakes, but equally delicious and moist, served with Greek yogurt, syrup and a homemade fruit compote.

Daniela went for the same but with crisp bacon piled on the side.

Rose, studying nutrition, was naturally the more restrained amongst us and chose a healthy homemade granola topped with soy milk and a selection of fresh berries.

The service was impeccable as always at the Last Brasserie and the waiter could not do enough for us.

We leisurely ate our breakfast whilst soaking up the sun.

I would also recommend the restaurant's lunch and dinner menu which offers an array of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes prepared with fresh ingredients, which means the menu is always changing. They offer a vast selection of specials on the day as well, depending on what's in season and the food is always very reasonably priced.
